Christian pre-marriage counseling is uniquely different because its foundation is based on the Word of God (the Bible). Its purpose is to ensure that both future spouses enter into a covenant relationship with their eyes wide open. Therefore, using Biblical principles, the couple will explore potential areas of conflict in a marriage such as: money, in-laws, children, sexual relationship, etc. Then, based on the teachings of Scripture, the couple will be challenged to discuss these areas and learn to deal with them in practical ways.
Most assuredly, yes. Because your local Church has a vested interest in you and your future, together we form a 'team' where one will supplement and complement the other. Our mutual goal is the same: to explore (and deeper understand) your future partner better, and to determine if both are ready for the responsibility and commitment of marriage - as God has described it in His Word.
Each session is approximately on hour in length, and the total number of sessions is six weeks
Arrangements will be made to meet with you in your home Church (other options may also be available)
Christian pre-marriage counseling prepares a couple to enter into a relationship based upon sacrificial love for one another - thereby, placing the needs of the other before the needs of self.
To focus on personal, future, and family goals together and to explore relationship strengths and potential growth areas. The couple will also be challenged to examine one's value-system, while planning a future life together based on Scripturally founded Christ- like standards. The couple will also be assigned to an already seasoned married couple - along with your Pastor - where on-going mentoring and nurturing support can be established.
Because professional counseling can be quite expensive, we are trying to keep the cost at a minimum. Therefore, the total cost -- which includes all materials and six separate sessions -- is approximately the cost of one's wedding cake, only $600.
We anticipate that your home Church will also assist with some kind of financial assistance, and this will be explored with each couple and your Church to help offset this cost.
